Doretta N. Thompson
My name is Doretta N. Thompson, mother of two and grandmother of two grandsons. I am a retired Deputy Probation Officer, serving as a service worker within the Los Angeles County System for 32 years. I am in my second term as a school board member for Eastside Union School District where I appreciate the opportunity to advocate and be a genuine voice for our students, staff members, and families. I am honored to have received the Franklin & Eleonore Roosevelt Humanitarian Award in November of 2021
I earned a Bachelor’s in Human Services and a Master’s in Business Administration. I am truly a humanitarian by nature, coming from very humble beginnings. I believe in democracy for all and have been dedicated to challenging the status quo or norms that are counterproductive to the overall establishment of Equity. I am humbled and dedicated to doing the right thing although oftentimes difficult. I believe in the power of Unity and We the People.
