Sharonda Adams

Sharonda (Marshall) Adams was born in East Orange, New Jersey to William and Murlean Marshall. She attended private schools all throughout her elementary years until her parents moved to South Jersey where she attended Pemberton High School. She graduated High School in 1987 and then went to Burlington County College and received her Associate of Arts in 1990. Sharonda decided after working many years with the Secretary of State of New Jersey from 1994 – 2003 that she would return to school to finish her bachelor’s degree. Sharonda went to Mercer County Community College and received her second Associate of Arts with honors in 2004 and then transferred with/ tuition paid fully by scholarship to Temple University in Philadelphia Pennsylvania. She graduated from Temple University receiving a Bachelor of Arts in 2010 and continued her education with Lincoln University working towards her master’s in human services needing 23 credits to finish. Sharonda is a mother of 3 children and a grandmother to 2 beautiful babies. Sharonda was named in the “Whos Who” for writing poetry about love and Sharonda had the opportunity to work with Committee 77 for the City of Philadelphia elections. Sharonda also has had the privilege of owning a gym with her husband called “Breaking Barriers” Her primary mission is to teach the youth of Philadelphia how to row (emerging).

Sharonda has several accomplishments just to name a few

  • Sharonda was instrumental in writing a grant totaling 11 million dollars for Mt. Tabor Cyber Village to open a 56-unit senior citizen complex in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
  • Sharonda was the summer director for the Summer Youth School at Mt Tabor AME Church, in 2009.

  • Sharonda was the Woman of the Year in 2010, for the Philadelphia District 181, Philadelphia, as a single mom, working full-time, and full-time student, and she still gave the community her full dedication.

  • Sharonda moved to Texas and remained active. Volunteered with Pat & Emmitt Smith Charities Team 22 from 2013 – 2020. They help sponsor 22 high school seniors with scholarships for college.

  • Sharonda volunteered with the George W. Bush Presidential Center when it first opened in 2013.

  • Sharonda has also worked with the NHRA from 2018 to present as a production runner once a year in October.
